Employees of the Macon County School System (MCSS) recently participated in the Flint River Mill Community Advisory Council (CAC) meeting, demonstrating their commitment to community engagement and environmental stewardship. The meeting took place on February 12th, bringing together members to review and discuss key aspects of the Flint River Mill’s operations.
The CAC meets regularly to assess various topics, including site operations, environmental concerns, safety protocols, emergency preparedness, economic impact, and community involvement. These discussions provide a platform for local leaders and stakeholders to collaborate and ensure the continued responsible operation of the mill.
Following the meeting, council members had the opportunity to tour the Flint River Mill plant. This tour provided valuable insights into the plant’s daily operations and the extensive safety precautions in place to protect employees and the surrounding community.
MCSS is proud to have its staff represented on the CAC, contributing to meaningful discussions that impact the local area. Their participation underscores the school system’s dedication to fostering strong community relationships and staying informed on key industrial and environmental matters.
