Chattahoochee-Flint RESA is proud to celebrate the talented young writers who participated in the 2024-2025 Young Georgia Authors Writing Competition! This prestigious competition showcases the creativity and writing skills of students from elementary, middle, and high schools across our region.
We are thrilled to announce this year’s Regional Winners and Honorable Mentions from Macon County School System (MCSS):
🎉 Fourth Grade Regional Winner: "Life Without Technology" – Skyler Woolfork (Macon County Elementary School)
🏅 Seventh Grade Honorable Mention: "Life of a Child" – Kimora Cochran (Macon County Middle School)
🏅 Tenth Grade Honorable Mention: "Whispers of Eternity" – Solomon Eke (Macon County High School)
Congratulations to these outstanding students for their exceptional writing! The Regional Winners will now advance to the state-level competition, where they will compete against top young writers from across Georgia. State winners will be announced later this year.
The Young Georgia Authors Writing Competition, sponsored by the Georgia Language Arts Supervisors and the Georgia RESA Network with support from the Georgia Department of Education, is open to K-12 students and celebrates a variety of writing styles, including short stories, poetry, essays, and more. This competition fosters a love for writing and provides a platform for students to showcase their creativity and literary talents.
