Due to an unforeseen incident beyond our control, all students will be released early at 9:00 am. Students will receive breakfast. After breakfast, buses will begin loading at 9:00 am and all car riders may be picked up at 9:00 am. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Macon County Middle School Receives Recognition for Exiting Federally Identified School Improvement List
Dr. Richard Woods, State Superintendent, and Dr. Stephanie Johnson, State Assistant Superintendent for School Improvement, recognized Macon County Middle School for exiting the list of federally identified improvement schools. This means that MCMS has met all the requirements set forth by the federal government to ensure that all students receive a high-quality education.
Macon County Superintendent, Mr. Marc Maynor, said that this is a major accomplishment for the school and the community. "This is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students, parents, teachers, and staff," he said. "We are all extremely proud of this achievement."
The school's exit from the school improvement list is for the work accomplished from 2019-2022. Dr. George McElroy, MCMS principal, said that the school is committed to continuing its success. "We are not going to rest on our laurels," he said. "We are going to keep improving and work hard to provide all of our students with the best possible education."
The school's exit from the federally identified schools list is a major victory for the school and the community. It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of all stakeholders, and it is a sign of good things to come.
